Window Washers
by dontplaceliterature inquestion:.
why do i see so frequently the witnesses referred to as "window washers" on here?
i have been a witness (though only recently "conscious") for my whole life.

The saddest thing about Farkel, is not that he knows everything. It is that he cannot let go of his fear. "Love is letting go of fear." Farkel is yet to be accused of being loving. Sad, very, very sad.
That's a fairly passive aggressive, and ignorant, statement. I've never been a fan of personal attacks. They are the lowest common denominator and, if memory serves, are used mainly when a poster has nothing else to resort to in response. If you've read what he's had to say over the years, you'd know that he does know a great deal about a great many things, but he's never once said he knows "everything". Quite the opposite. It takes a lot of guts to admit to a mistake and I've seen him do it. You really have no clue what you're saying, or what Farkel is really about. One thing I've always liked about Farkel is what you see is what you get. Nothing hidden. No lies, no hidden agendas and no pretense. That can't be said about some. And, unlike some, he's actually got something to say, and he does so in an intelligent no nonsense way. If he sees someone full of it, he'll call them on it. If you don't like what he says, then don't read it. If you disagree with him, then prove him wrong. And I'll agree with Shelby. I accuse Farkel of being loving. Chris

Anyone who knew hillary_step knows that for him half the fun was the written interplay. He could be deadly with his rapier and sometimes I think he'd take the opposite side of a discussion for no reason other than to keep it going. HS was the single coolest person I got to know in the online world.
Farkel with all I opened up about my childhood and experiences back in the day, you should continue. It's up to you of course, but I discovered via PM lots of people read what I wrote and they never posted on the threads. But it helped them. Once you throw something out there you've got to be ready for whatever comes back. There are a couple of things I posted that I cringe about now, but it is what it is. Maybe posting about it gives a point to some of the pointless things that you've been through. I don't know. I do know you've got something to say.
You're a good guy and one of a handful of people in the online world I have always stopped down to read what is written.
I hope you're doing well my friend.

Can't read apostacy, can't question God
Why?
If you can't question god, who can you question? I mean if god is that thin skinned, that he doesn't allow questions then what's the point?
As for "apostacy", that's a relative term depending entirely on one's point of view. To the Jews, wasn't Jesus an apostate?
Just askin'.

We all die, so why bother with Jehovah if the worst is annihilation?
by InterestedOne ini was wondering what a jw could say to a person who doesn't care about "serving jehovah.
" the person could ask, "so what if i don't serve jehovah?
" if i understand jw belief correctly, they will say, "then you'll cease to exist.

Fear of death is not long term incentive.
When I left, I actually remember thinking I'd rather die than stay with those people, in that cult, living that kind of life.

YO, BIG TEX! How u doin' pal??
Actually better than I expected. Some days I think I'm going to make it, and others I realize I'm standing on a ledge with nothing around me. It helps to get out of the house and stay busy. Christmas was difficult, very difficult, but on the plus side I'm going out to my first New Years Eve party. So I'm kind of excited about that.
(((Scully)))
(((Mouthy)))I've known you guys for a long time now. I remember when I first start posting here 8 years ago. Who'd a thunk it?

Maybe it's the journey, not the destination that matters.
Maybe there is a reason that the answer is not there with absolute certainty in this life. Maybe we have to discover for ourselves what that reason is, and then make it okay within ourselves. And maybe, in the end, the question of who or if or even why isn't nearly as important as how. How did we choose to live our life? We have control only over ourselves, how we treat others and how we validate our inner person.
The fun thing about escaping from the Witnesses is allowing yourself the freedom to think about what you want for a change. It is your life after all. So do you want to believe in a god, or a buddha or even the Great Pumpkin? Or nothing at all?
Be well,
Chris
" For what it's worth: it's never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again"
